AI Transparency Notice
Luca uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help you understand and organize your financial transactions. This notice explains how AI is used, its limitations, and your rights.
1. What AI Features We Offer
a) Transaction Categorization
When you add transactions (via bank sync, CSV import, or manual entry), our AI automatically assigns them to categories you have defined. This feature is enabled by default but you can disable it in Settings.
b) AI Financial Analysis (optional)
When enabled, the AI analyzes anonymized aggregates of your finances (category tokens with rounded totals and trends — never merchant names, descriptions, or account details) together with the investment preferences you choose to enter, and produces personalized insights and investment suggestions. This feature is opt-in only and not enabled by default.
2. How the AI Works
- We use Google's Gemini language model via API
- For categorization, your transaction descriptions, merchant names, amounts, and category names are sent to Google for processing. For the AI financial analysis, only anonymized aggregates (category tokens with rounded totals and trends) plus any investment preferences you enter are sent — never merchant names, transaction descriptions, or account details
- Google does not use your data to train its models (EU/EEA protection applies)
- No human at Luca or Google reviews your individual transactions as part of normal processing
3. Important Limitations
- AI may be wrong. Categorizations and suggestions may be inaccurate or inappropriate.
- AI is not a financial advisor. Nothing produced by the AI constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice.
- AI cannot see your full picture. It only processes data you provide through the Service.
- Suggestions are automated. Even when personalized to your data and stated preferences, they are pattern-based output, not a professional assessment of your needs — verify before acting.
- No guarantees. We do not guarantee that following any suggestion will result in savings or improved outcomes.
- Use your judgment. Consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
4. Your Control
- Review and correct: You can change any AI-assigned category at any time
- Disable categorization: Go to Settings to turn off AI categorization
- Opt out of suggestions: Savings suggestions are opt-in; disable at any time
- Delete your data: Deleting your account removes all AI-processed data
5. Data Processing
- The lawful basis for AI categorization is legitimate interest (you can object/disable)
- The lawful basis for savings suggestions is your consent (opt-in)
- Your data is not used to train AI models
6. Reporting Issues
If you notice an AI output that is clearly incorrect, offensive, or misleading, please report it to support@fuentech.dev.
